Making trade a more efficient process in ASEAN was the focus of our Second Runner-Up from RMIT University, Vietnam. Teammates, Nguyen Van Thuan and Mai Thanh Tung or usually called Kevin are recent graduates with majors in Marketing and Economics/Finance respectively.
Besides their studies, Kevin likes to run and bake, while Thuan describes himself as an outgoing person who is always looking for an event to attend. Using the SAP Analytics Cloud was the biggest challenge for the team, who admit they had little experience in data analytics. Nonetheless, even without prior the experience, both Kevin and Thuan knew the competition provided them a rare opportunity to engage in data analytics. With some persistence and help from YouTube, the team believes they are now proficient in the SAP software.
Their advice for those thinking of entering ADSE 2019? Have a plan before you start using the SAP Analytics Cloud, or as Kevin put it, SAP Analytics Cloud is like a math problem, you need to find the way of solving the problem before keying in values into your calculator.
Both teammates agree that participation in ADSE has provided ideas and opportunities for their careers. Kevin, who dreams of being a management consultant, believes that ADSE provided him a chance to diversify his skill-set, while Thuan believes that skills learnt in ADSE will help develop him into a successful marketing expert.
