I still do not regret having taken time off university to pursue this internship!

I, Andrieta Rafaela, did not apply for an internship at the ASEAN Foundation to pass my spare time, nor did I do so to fulfill an academic requirement—in fact, to meet the minimum two-month internship period, I took an academic leave from my university’s short semester. What did prompt me to apply was my curiosity and also because I didn’t know when the opportunity to intern at the Foundation as a creative writer would arise again. Later on, I would discover that they offer internship opportunities pretty often 😂, but I still do not regret having taken time off university to pursue this internship!

During my time in the ASEAN Foundation, I learned to create written contents for various purposes, how to work together with different kinds of people, the inner-workings of a non-profit organisation, and more about ASEAN itself; things I couldn’t get from my classes alone. I also got to meet great people who I not only worked alongside with, but also got to share good laughs and conversations with.

I thank ASEAN Foundation and the people I encountered for the wonderful experience. I encourage all of you reading this post to give their internship a go!
