The ASEAN-China Youth Exchange Camp was a dynamic platform for cross-cultural learning and digital economy dialogue. Organised by the ASEAN Foundation in partnership with the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN and supported by the ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund in 2024, the camp took place in Xiamen and Quanzhou, China, with Xiamen University as the local host.
The camp convened 24 promising students from all ten ASEAN Member States and China under the theme “Fostering ASEAN-China Partnership through Digital Economy Cooperation for Sustainable Economic Growth.” Through a blend of academic lectures, expert-led discussions, and interactive group activities, participants explored topics such as ASEAN-China relations, digital innovation, and regional cooperation.
In addition to formal sessions, participants were immersed in Chinese culture and history through guided tours of heritage and cultural landmarks. These experiences fostered a deeper appreciation of the historical and cultural ties that underpin ASEAN-China relations.
The programme not only equipped youth with a deeper understanding of digital economy cooperation but also nurtured leadership, intercultural communication, and policy awareness.
Participants returned to their communities with fresh insights and renewed motivation to strengthen the ASEAN-China bond.
