Programme Background
The ASEAN Digital Academy is a joint programme between ASEAN Foundation and Infoxchange, designed to enhance ASEAN Foundation’s two existing e-learning platforms: the ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme and the ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme. These platforms will be centralised under a single platform – the ASEAN Digital Academy (ADA) – to provide ease of access and a streamlined user experience.
Additionally, the programme will also update the cybersecurity learning content, targeting individuals with no technical background and small organisations from ASEAN countries. The learning content will be made available in English and translated into 9 ASEAN languages, including English, Indonesian, Malay, Khmer, Lao, Burmese, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.
To ensure the accuracy and quality of the translated materials, the programme seeks to engage an ASEAN-language proofreader (individual or agency) to review and provide constructive feedback on the translated learning content, ensuring clarity, grammatical accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance across all language versions.
Scope of Work
The Proofreader will be responsible for to review the following content in 9 ASEAN languages, including English, Indonesian, Malay, Khmer, Lao, Burmese, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese:
- Proofreading ADA website content (click here)
- Proofreading ADA training content, including video, reading materials, and pre-post tests (click here)
- Proofreading and refining written prompts and responses text for AI tools (Ask AI chatbot, AI Self Fact-Checking, and AI Discussion Forum)
- Ensuring translations are accurate, culturally appropriate, and easy to understand
- Reviewing the grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax.
- Providing suggestions for improving clarity and readability.
- Collaborating with ASEAN Foundation and partner to ensure revisions are properly implemented
Timeline & Deliverable
The duration of this position is tentatively from 1-30 September 2025. This work can be performed and delivered remotely (onsite attendance is not required). The Proofreading Provider is responsible for achieving the following deliverables:

Payment Terms
The Full payment will be made upon completion and approval of Deliverables 1 and 2, will be transferred within 14 working days following the issuance of the invoice by the proofreading provider.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in proofreading, editing, or translation services, preferably involving ASEAN Languages.
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in proofreading diverse website content, including textual materials, video scripts, and AI chatbot prompts.
- Certified in professional editing or proofreading by recognised and reputable institutions.
- Proven track record of handling multilingual projects, particularly in contexts involving cultural sensitivity and local nuances of ASEAN-related terminology, policies, and communication standards.
- Possess associations or networks of professional proofreaders capable of delivering accurate proofreading across ASEAN languages.
- Experience working with international organisations, NGOs, or government agencies is an advantage.
Intellectual Property
All information pertaining to this project belonging to the ASEAN Foundation, which the Proofreading Provider as the Consultant may come into contact with, in the performance of his/her duties under the assignment shall remain the property of the ASEAN Foundation, which shall have exclusive rights over their use. Except for purposes of this assignment, the information shall not be disclosed to the public nor used in whatever without written permission of the ASEAN Foundation in line with the national and international Copyrights Laws applicable.
