ASEAN Foundation-Mastercard Cyber Resilience Programme for SMEs

The ASEAN Foundation–Mastercard Cyber Resilience Programme is a pilot initiative designed to support Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by enhancing their cybersecurity capacity and providing access to a cyber hygiene rating tool. This tool enables MSMEs to assess their current cyber posture and identify key areas for improvement, thereby reducing vulnerabilities. The programme also aligns with the ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2020 and the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2021–2025. In its initial phase, the programme aims to reach 50 MSMEs across the ten ASEAN Member States.

Through the programme, selected MSMEs will receive the following benefits:

  • Enhanced Cybersecurity Awareness and Digital Resilience: Through My Cyber Risk, participants will gain an understanding of the cyber hygiene required for externally facing infrastructure. This will enable participants to prioritise the remediation of critical risks and protect their organisation against cyberattacks.
  • Capacity Building and Skill Development: Through self-paced and guided learning available on Mastercard Trust Center, beneficiaries will develop practical cybersecurity skills, improving their digital literacy, data protection strategies, and cyber risk management capabilities.
  • Increased Competitiveness: For SMEs, adopting cybersecurity best practices will boost consumer trust and enhance business security. For young people, acquiring cybersecurity skills opens up career opportunities in the growing field of digital security.
