Frequently Ask Question

Got Questions?

How can I join The ASEAN Foundation?

There are two main ways to join the ASEAN Foundation: by applying for staff or consultant positions, or through our internship programme. Recruitment opportunities are usually announced when new programmes begin and roles become available.

Yes! Our internship programme is one of our flagship educational initiatives. While unpaid, it offers meaningful experience in regional development and non-profit work. We welcome diploma students, master’s students, and recent graduates from all ASEAN Member States and ASEAN’s Dialogue Partner countries. Internships are available year-round, with recruitment held on a quarterly basis.

Staff and consultant recruitment typically moves quickly to meet programme timelines. After a one- to three-week application period, shortlisted candidates are invited to interviews (usually conducted online) and are asked to complete a written test. Some roles begin with the test before the interview stage. The entire process usually takes between one to three months. Intern recruitment follows a similar format, though with a slightly more flexible timeline. Due to the high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by our HR team for both roles.

The ASEAN Foundation is now seeking a skilled Impact Measurement Agency to develop impact measurement reports, compile critical data into a centralised database, and ensure the programme’s long-term sustainability across the ASEAN region. The Impact Agency will commence work in February 2026 and conclude by July 2027, with mid-year and annual performance reviews. Should the performance be deemed unsatisfactory during these reviews, the engagement may be subject to re-evaluation and potential termination.

The programme aims to strengthen digital resilience across ASEAN by equipping communities with the awareness and skills to recognise, prevent, and respond to online scams. This will be achieved through capacity-building for up to 2,000 Master Trainers and 550,000 individuals. To support this objective, a centralised Resource Hub will be developed as the primary platform for anti-scam learning materials, connecting Master Trainers and learners while enabling coordinated knowledge dissemination and collective vigilance. The platform will also promote multi-stakeholder collaboration by showcasing joint public-private efforts, serving as a gateway to ASEAN Foundation knowledge assets, programme data, and impact information of the Scam Ready ASEAN initiative. The platform is expected to promote ASEAN identity, be accessible in all 11 ASEAN languages, and include features of anti-scams courses, anti-scams reports in the region, programme’s success stories, and subscriber notifications for content updates.
A core to this programme, a series of regional and national policy convenings will be implemented to strengthen governance through joint public-private dialogue and enhance ASEAN’s collective response to online scams. In line with this objective, the programme will launch its first Regional Policy Convening in May/June 2025 in the Philippines. This convening will bring together key stakeholders across the region, including government, private sector, civil society, Local Implementing Partner (LIPs), private sectors and representatives from ASEAN Member States to exchange insights, align strategies, and explore actionable recommendations. The dialogue is expected to strengthen regional collaboration and inform policy directions that enhance protection and digital resilience against online scams. To support the effective delivery of this convening, the ASEAN Foundation seeks a hotel service provider to provide accommodation, meeting venue, and related services that meet international standards for a regional policy event.
