ASEAN Seeds for the Future (ASEAN Seeds) is a digital empowerment programme by the ASEAN Foundation, developed in partnership with Huawei, to nurture local ICT talent and build a vibrant, inclusive digital community across the region. Launched in 2021 as a regional extension of Huawei’s global Seeds for the Future initiative, the programme empowers both STEM and non-STEM students with in-demand digital skills through a unique blend of online and onsite training, expert-led workshops, and an immersive visit to Huawei’s headquarters in China.

ASEAN Seeds aims to bridge the region’s digital skills gap while promoting inclusive education, with a special focus on youth from underserved and marginalised communities. The programme goes beyond traditional learning formats by incorporating interactive, immersive online experiences, ensuring broader access and continuous engagement.

With a strong emphasis on practical ICT skills, cross-cultural collaboration, and knowledge exchange, ASEAN Seeds equips participants to thrive in the digital economy and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Now in its fifth year, the programme has empowered students from all ten ASEAN Member States, preparing a new generation of changemakers ready to shape the region’s digital future.
